执大象，天下往。往而不害，安平泰。
乐与饵，过客止。道之出口，淡乎其无味，视之不足见，听之不足闻，用之不可既。

谁执守了大道，普天下都会前往归顺他。普天下都归顺他，也不会互相妨害，反而能享受安息、平安、太平的生活。
人间的美乐佳宴，能使过往客人停步不前。而大道说出口，平淡无味，看起来不起眼，听起来不入耳，使用它时却用之不尽。

Whoever applies the Tao will then win the heart of all peoples of the empire. They run to him, and he does not harm them; he offers them peace, stillness, and serenity.
The beautiful music and the exquisite food can retain passing travelers. But when the Tao comes out of the mouth, it is flat and tasteless. We look at it and we cannot see it well; we listen to it and we cannot hear it well; but when you use it, you cannot exhaust it.

Quiconque applique le Tao, aura alors le cœur de tous les peuples de l'empire.
Ils accourent vers lui, et il ne leur fait point de mal ; il leur procure la paix, le calme et la quiétude.
La jolie musique et les mets exquis peuvent retenir les étrangers qui passent.
Mais lorsque le Tao sort de la bouche, il est fade et sans saveur.
On le regarde et l'on ne peut bien le voir; on l'écoute et l'on ne peut bien l'entendre; mais lorsqu’on l'emploie, l'on ne peut l'épuiser.
