What a huge space! The crowd is exalted with joy, as if at a big party, or go up in springtime on a show stage. I am alone calm and hardly show myself; A little chaotic, I look like a newborn baby who cannot yet smile at his mother. Wandering everywhere, I don't know where to go.
Everyone has plenty; I am alone like a man who has lost everything; I am a narrow-minded man, devoid of knowledge. Other people are so bright; I am alone like plunged into darkness. Other people are keen; I alone have a troubled and confused mind. I am vague like sea; I am floating as if I did not know where to dock. Other people have knowhow; I alone seem stupid; I look like a rustic man.
I alone differ from other people, because I prefer to be nourished by my mother (the Tao).
