道冲而用之或不盈。渊兮似万物之宗。锉其锐,解其纷,和其光,同其尘。湛兮似常存。吾不知其谁之子,象帝之先。

The Tao appears empty; but when it’s used, it seems inexhaustible.
How deep it is! He seems the ancestral of all beings. It dulls its aggressiveness, frees from all its constraints, tempers its brightness, and embraces local custom.
How elusive it is! It seems to go on forever. I don't know whose descendant is it; it seems exist before the gods.
